What you will see if you visit us in Room 4H…

We are a tight-knit community! Students and teachers work together as a team to accomplish academic and social goals. Students transition from “learning to read” to “reading to learn” in fourth grade and will continue to take adventures with rich literature. Students are constantly writing throughout the day. Students respond to literature with open-ended writing activities and learn writing techniques and skills through Writer’s Workshops. In Writer's Notebooks, students' individual writing talents are nourished. Students are developing critical thinking skills, abstract reasoning; and applying mathematics to real world applications. Fourth grade students are constantly being challenged by stimulating, hands-on activities guided by their inquiry and interdisciplinary experiences. Our class collaborates, shares materials, and organizes fourth grade team projects with Mrs. B and Mrs. Spanier's classes. Our class is lucky to have such great partner classes!

Learning happens through experience and reflection. When engulfed by experience, reflection happens naturally. Learners become emotionally attached to the experience and learning is forever imprinted on our spirits. Students and families… be prepared for many field trips!

Open Door Policy:
I believe that people prosper when they know they are loved unconditionally and have a support system. Please know that I love your child unconditionally and consider me as part of your family’s support system. Parents and Students: Please contact me via letter, email or phone call to set up a conference. Open communication is key to a successful partnership!
